The shore was lined with fishermen and lake full of rental kayaks and motor boats. Apparently, it's ok to be as annoying as possible. Before you think understaffing, there were 2 occupied campground host sites less than 50 feet from all this. Our dog was overwhelmed by the noise and we were as well. The yelled and screamed all day, and at night the adults led a very loud shouting festival around the campfire. They proceeded to take over all the space around them. The 3 tent sites across from ours filled with 27 (yes, I counted them) people. Again, I know it's unfair to rate on the actions of people, but when it becomes excessive, staff should enforce their own rules.
We were there on a weekend when it was full, and people near us rude. Site 524 where we were did have privacy, but it was tiny. No underbrush between sites and sites are right on top of the next one. 99% of sites are in open areas with trees here and there. As is our habit, we drove around looking for our sort of sites to keep on my every growing list of our favorite places. We were lucky enough to get one of only a very few campsites with even a small amount of privacy. I understand that everyone's expectations are different, but I write this review to the people who think of camping as getting back to the peace and quiet of nature.
